100 year old Sourdough Bread
Fresh baked Sourdough Bread is MY "claim to fame".
I use a sourdough started that has been "alive" for over 100 years. Ledgend has it that the started traveled to Wyoming in a covered chuck wagon from Ohio. My father was gifted a jar of the priceless starter when he was a teenager. The old Wyoming ranch woman that gave it to him reported that the camp cook slept with the starter in his sleeping blankets so that it would not freeze! I have been known to take my starter with me on vacation and beg the hotel cook to let me work it in his/her kitchen! Out of respect for great food and tradition, I have never been turned down!

Hi-
What a great history to carry on! And as a guy with a homemade starter a whopping 12 days old, I really liked the part about bringing it with you on vacation. I'm nursing mine day by day, slightly obsessively! So of course I have to ask about the bread recipe. My starter is probably not yet ready to yet, but I'm dying to try it out sometime soon. Take care!
