Applesauce Yeast Bread for Bread Machines

Description

I love this recipe because it's so different from a quickbread. It has a light apple taste with a hint of cinnamon. If you would like even more apple taste substitute yet more applesauce for the butter.

Ingredients

1 1/2 lb Loaf
Apple Juice ¼ cup
Applesauce ½ cup
Large Egg 1
Butter 2 Tbsp
Bread Flour 3 cups
Brown Sugar 3 Tbsp
Gluten(optional)1 Tbsp
Salt 1 ½ Tsp
Ground Cinnamon 1 Tsp
Baking Soda 1/3 Tsp
Yeast 2 ½ Tsp

2 lb Loaf
Apple Juice ½ cup
Applesauce ¾ cup
Large Egg 1
Butter 3 Tbsp
Bread Flour 4 cups
Brown Sugar ¼ cup
Gluten(optional) 1 Tbsp +1 Tsp
Salt 2 Tsp
Ground Cinnamon 1 ¼ Tsp
Baking Soda ½ Tsp
Yeast 2 ¾ Tsp

Instructions

This recipe is not suited for delay timer. Place all ingredients in pan in order with the yeast in a little hole in the top. Place pan in machine. Set to Basic or Sweet Bread cycle. When cycle is finished remove bread from pan and cool to room temp before slicing.

*I find that sometimes this recipe becomes too dry in the mixing so I watch it to see and add water or juice one Tbsp at a time until the dough ball becomes smooth and springy but not too moist. Think Pillsbury Doughboy. I have never used the gluten the recipe calls for. When I use the sweet cycle the dough rises like mad anyway.
