Back to the BC
Howdy everyone, it's just Pete coming back after being away for some years. I see they've completely revamped the BC but a lot of my baking buddies are still here! I see no better way to celebrate returning than by getting a sourdough started going again. Haven't done that for years! Hope to yak with all of you as in days past.

LOL Swirth! I'm still in the Appalachian Mountains of PA, where I am staying!! Got the divorce mess completed and now it's time to move on with my life. Got a great job, new truck, new John Deere Diesel tractor, and brand new stove with convection oven. I'm staying put! Bring on the flour and pizza dough getting stuck in the ceiling light fixture when I toss it too high!! Hope all has been going great for you!

Howdy Sandy, you're not TOO far from where I live now, in the Oil City/Franklin area of PA. Hope to get my baking skills back to "full power". We used to have some HILARIOUS posts on the old BC. Hope we all can again!!

Pete, good to see you here. So, tell us, how did that pizza cook?

Alas, that piece of dough gave me a painful reminder of how much dust was on the fixture; it had to be discarded. Otherwise I would have produced "pizza a la dust bunny"! Thankfully, I had enough dough for 3 pizzas left, which came out excellent. I became less enthusiastic about tossing the dough so high after the first one!

Pete, welcome back! We have missed you. Sorry to hear of the divorce. We have lots of new folks here on the NBC and some of us who have been around for a while too. Jan

Pete,
I often feel like the odd one out here as I'm not stateside but thankfully, even Spain has flour, sugar, salt and yeast. (Actually they make salt close to where I live). I just get envious of all the extras you can get, things like mint choc and caramel chips. Mind you, probably better I can't get them here, they'd be unlikely to get as far as the mixing bowl anyway! I have become quite tenacious in finding the stuff that really matters though, for this and my other hobbies!

Pete, you don't know me but I make your version of Italian Bakery Bread. I even posted about it recently complete with a photo. Of course, like most bread bakers, I DID alter it just a tad. Welcome back!

Hi, Pete! Welcome back! I'm GinaG. aka Smarty-pants.
I hope you enjoy laughter as much as you do baking and sharing, because there's loads of that around here!
I love working with sourdough, so the more people we have to play with around here, the better.
Hope to see you post often.
~GinaG.
