I rcvd. my new large Zo this past week (black/stainless). This is my 4th. Zo. as I had two of the older white ones, and the new smaller Zo (which I love, love, love).
Anyway, I baked a recipe from the manual lst., and it came out burned on the sides @ bottom & white in color on the top. All in all a bad looking loaf...ok...I figured this was just a fluke, and I would try one of my tried & trues. This one came out the same, and it always came out great in my previous Zo's. While last night's loaf was cooking in the new Zo, someone said "it smells like nail polish remover in here". That was the smell coming from the new machine, and sure enough the tried & true loaf was burned on the sides same as the lst. & white in color on the top. I have been using Zo AMS's for years, and I know this should not be. Something is wrong. I have a feeling the machine is running too hot (note: I used basic/light crust as I always do). Anyway, I called the KA hotline today, ran my recipe by the person, & she said she saw no reason why it should not come out.
Long story short.....a new machine is being sent to me along with a label with free postage to return the defective machine. Note: This replacement machine is being sent right out before I return the defective one.
You can't ask for more than this in a company. Very classy....
BTW, the little Zo is a fab. little machine, very well made, and a real workhorse. It is very easy to use, clean-up, everything....and the bread???? oh my...............if you have a smaller family & you are an ABM beginner, you can't go wrong with the "little" Zojirushi. It also fits real well on any counter top, and it has a handle.
