gingerbread

Can gingerbread tell a story?
Yes, you might make history!
The 2010 Alabama State Fair's Syrup Contest awarded my old fashion gingerbread recipe with a 1st prize blue ribbon. My love of historical research and baking are a delectable combination.
I am a "story teller" and one of my popular costumed characters is red, white and blue BETSY ROSS. It appears folks are hungry to learn about colonial history while sampling a delicious economical bread made with ginger and molasses. My celebrated recipe is a reminder that gingerbread was served in the 18th century. The idea that an ordinary woman and an ordinary sweet bread could be an extraordinary part of American history has great appeal for audiences.
