Thanks to all who have asked for an update. I completed my tomography (radiation) on Dec 23rd. Today (1/25) I had a cat scan to determine the effects of the treatments. The radiologist will give me the results in about a week. My recent eye surgery was a complete success. After some years of very low visiion in my one good eye (Have been legally blind in the other since a retina reattachment left me with no sight) I can now see well enough to see dust!! I also have had a consultation to determine if anything can be done to relieve my back pains that are a result of 3 fractures.Although it is minimally invasive ,it is a surgical procedure with total anaestesia, and probably would be done only on the new fracture. I am holding off on a decision until I have the results of the cat scan. Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement through all my procedures. You are the BEST, and I am eternally grateful. Please continue praying as this journey is far from over,

So good to see your progress report, altardee! I did a big sigh of relief back on Dec. 23 when your radiation treatments were completed...so glad you had that behind you and hoping the results will be good news. Such good news that your vision is greatly improved, too!
I can certainly understand your back pain as I live it every day and it grinds on the nerves to no end for sure. Hoping there will be something good they can do to fix you up in that regard as well.
God bless you in the days ahead as you find out the results of the radiation.

Whoohoo for the successful eye surgery. We are thinking of you in the hopes that the radiation will prove successful and that the doctors can do something really wonderful to alleviate your back pain. I also live with acute pain and some days you just fight to not get back in bed, so I know and understand how much you need those doctors to find an answer. We hope and pray they will.

You know you're still in my prayers, Alice. You and Tia and Sheila have become the trio in my heart and I pray for all three of you every single day.

That is one of the hardest things, to wait for the results. We go through that every six months with my SL. Prayers for good results.

Hsd the sssion with the radiologist on Thursday and the results of the cat scan are encouraging. The tumor has shrunk! However since I am allergic to the comtrast solution it could not be determined if it is still active or it is now dormant but I will get that answer when I have my next petscan. That should be probably in March. Will have that date after I see the oncologist week after next. Thank you all for your ongoing prayers. They are my rock!!!

Great news, Altardee! We will keep the prayers flowing all the way through March and more good news!

That is great news. And remember, it takes a long time for a tumor to be resorbed. It can't just vanish into thin air. Please continue to keep us posted.

Today I saw the oncologist for the results of the petscan I had on March 27th and I am overjoyed to tell you ,all my prayer buddies, the for now I am cancer free. That was music to my ears even though it is unknown how long the remission will last. But I am going to enjoy every day of it and I ask you to keep me in your prayers still as I will keep all of you. The next scan will be at the end of June and hopefully will also be negative. Now I must concentrate on some other issues and regaining my strength!!!!!! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Altardee, how wonderful it is to see that you are cancer free! I'm continuing to pray for your rapid return to good health, and that your doctors can alleviate your back pain. Three fractures! Is this due to osteoporosis, or chemo, or radiation? My heart goes out to you.

There are no words in my vocabulary that can express how truly grateful I am for your frienship and prayers. What a god send the day I found this forum!!!!And it was by sheer accident! Or was it part of a greater plan ? I'm inclined to believe the latter. Thank you all again.

You have found the perfect words to express your gratitude. You have been, and continue to be, a wonderful part of this baking circle. We offered up prayers and good thoughts so one of our valued members could continue in good health. In some ways we were being quite selfish. We do not want to continue without you.
Wonderful news, indeed! For a wonderful, spunky lady!

Oh Alice, I don't know what is going on. I have been close to tears this week, about Tia and thinking about all the pain and suffering Sheila and some of our other friends are going through.
Now this last little note from you brought those tears all out. I am so glad that you get strength from us. It does make us really close these little notes we write back and forth about baking and all kinds of other subjects that comes in our mind.
That is why it felt so comfortable to have Hickeyja and Frick here. We were already friends !
