oven range - recommendations

Any recommendations on a 36 in oven that is great for baking? Which brand and/or model? I love my 30 in Electrolux but we are moving. Need a 36 in. Don't like the price tags. I like electric for baking. Any feedback appreciated.

Any reviews I've read recently rank the Electrolux as one of the best ovens. The price is high, but most reviewers agree its worth the price. I purchased a Dacor about 5 years ago. If I had it to do over, I would purchase the Electrolux. If you have that option, I would seriously consider it.

Thanks, Cindy. We are leaning toward another Electrolux. Just won't be able to afford all the features I currently enjoy going from a 30 in to a 36 in in that brand. Anyone know anything about AGA ovens?

BakerIrene

Yeah. They work by being ON ALL THE TIME. That's OK in a stone house without central heat. I can think of better ways of spending that much money than on fuel...

I'm glad you mentioned that, bakerIrene. That was what I had always heard. The whole darned thing is on all the time. If I lived in the Article Circle, maybe, but anywhere else, no! Besides, we had a thread on Aga's a while back and as I recall, the oven are small.

Isn't that right? Isn't that what we found out?

Type 'Aga' in the search box above, without the quote marks. The first thread that comes up "I want this" is the thread you want.

I remember that thread.....and hoe small the actual oven was... But the colors!

Yes, we looked at an AGA the other day. Nice features but I told the rep I couldn't see how I could fit my homemade pizza in that oven. Anyone have an Electrolux ICON series oven? Thanks.

Currently we have a 36" Dacor. It's the second Dacor that I've had, in the past 10 years. The first one was such a lemon that finally Dacor replaced it. Since October we've had repairs, which have both been over $400 each. So we thought we would start researching ranges. Hubby said the next time this breaks down, it's out the door. I'm sick of looking. Lowes has the Electrox Icon, which looks great. The repairman has recommended Blue Star, which the appliance store offers that he works out of. Yesterday we stopped at another appliance store and the owner highly recommended Kitchen Aid. But, after reading reviews, the Kitchen Aid is no longer on the list. Apparently there are problems with the electronic board, which KA is aware of, but they have not resolved the problem. Blue Star and Electroux are really expensive!!!! I just hope the recent $439 repair will last and I won't be faced with this high price decision. I think if you check out a site, A. J. Madison, they have many choices and reviews.

My god, my whole new oven (admittedly a cheap piece of crap, but nevertheless) didn't cost as much as just one of your repairs!

YIPES, she said painfully

Copy and paste will give you a link with no fancy stuff:

or turn it into a fancy link if you know HTML like this:

Here is a link to an article about AGA ovens

But if you just copy the URL out of the browswer window and paste it into your comment, the site will automatically turn it into a clickable link.

BTW, I noticed they were unable to sell that, even though it was discounted down from 18k new to about 1k.

I'd worry about something that's on all the time, too. If it's not rated for consumer use, could be homeowner's insurance issues as well.
