Powdered buttermilk for paddy's starter?

I hate to buy a qt. of buttermilk to make paddy's starter - can I use powdered buttermilk?

You need liquid buttermlk, Ron; you can freeze leftover buttermilk...it will not be as smooth as before freezing but just give it a few good shakes and it will be about as good as new.
