Puppy Update

Cat's girls are almost 5 weeks old. It has been a stressful few weeks. They developed teeth early and Cat decided she did not want to stay with them at night after 2 weeks. We managed but I have them almost weaned already.

Your a great mommy, and I'm sure they appreciate it. I remember when I was a young girl, my mother feeding our dogs puppies bread and warm milk by hand. I don't remember the reason, but I just can picture her having them on her lap and putting her fingers in their months........so cute. I guess needed Cat needed some relief and knew she could count on you.

I agree: You're a good mommy to Cat and your grand-doggies.They are just adorable.

As always they are darling. I am not a dog person for the most part but love everybody else's puppies.

The puppies are just beautiful. Did you name them yet? You are such a good "Mommie" to all your puppies.

Blessings,
Kat

No names yet. I am so tired that I can't even think straight. I do refer to one as Scorsese because she has large markings like eyebrows and Martin Scorsese sure has eyebrows.

Too cute.

They are adorable!

One is going to a local retired couple in 2 weeks. They plan to call her Schatzie Pearl (Dec 7 birthday). Not lovin the Schatzie but maybe Pearl will stick. The other we keep for a bit to decide on her. I call her Flavia for now (11 year old heroine of mystery I am reading).

They are so cute!! I want one :-) Not really, but they sure make me think I do.

I warned the buyers to put up their papers, unplug their electrical cords and watch their toes. These little bundles can get into soooo much trouble.

on the subject of names AND puppies getting into trouble - my daughter got 2 puppies about 3 months ago, and while i'm not sure what the one puppy's name was originally intended to be (i think it was casey?), he now answers to 'chaos'...he sort of named himself.

i posted a pic of my 2 youngest grandsons holding the little hairballs on my page...they're cute, they're really cute, but i just don't have the energy they require!

cwcdesign

mumpy,

I don't know who're cuter - the puppies or the grandsons :-) What type of puppies?

dachshundlady

They look like American Eskimo Dogs. And those ARE cute boys. 2
pups @ once; not for the inexperienced or faint of heart!!

mumpy

cw...thx for the kind words!

dl...yes, american eskimo dogs....they're miniatures, so they'll finish between 18 and 20 pounds....my guy is a standard eskie and a big one at that...38 pounds, but not overweight - the vet says he's just a very sturdy standard.

i agree that double puppy is not for the faint-hearted, but my daughter simply couldn't make up her mind between the 2 boys, so she got both...and since the 'new puppy' was to help fill the void left by the dog who died last summer, she thought that 2 puppies would cancel out the 'replacement' feeling and make them valuable in their own right....she's not easily rattled - with 5 boys in the house, that's prpbably a very good thing!....i told her she was nuts to get 2 at once, but she says that she handles triplet boys, she can certainly manage twin dogs.

cwcdesign

More power to her with triplet boys!! Plus 2 more. When I got pregnant with first son, we were told to expect triplets and second started out as twins. Don't know if I could have handled more than the 2 :-)

So adorable, I raised guide dog puppies in high school for Fidelco and they were so hard to give up, I would never be able to part with pups from my own dogs.God Bless!

One of the girls is going on Wednesday which is "early release" for me. They will be 10 weeks. But she is picking on the other one. We keep finding wounds on little Flavia from her bigger sister. They are going to name her Schatzi Pearl for her Dec 7th birthday. I will be a little sad but it is better for both of them. Not good to be bullied or be allowed to bully.

cwcdesign

Nice to know little Flavia will be free from being picked on. How does she do with the older pups? And, how many of that litter do you still have?

Keira turned 10 yesterday and Alice was going to have a big dog party for her :-) (Go Dog Go reference).

dachshundlady

Luckily there were only two in this litter. So Flavia will be alone. The 6 month old pups are pretty good with little ones but I keep watching them. When I am not present, Flavia will be alone in playpen.
