rye bread question - the recipe in KA Perfect Rye Flour
I'm going to be making the recipe(Light Rye) that is shown within the linked info for packaging and nutritional info for "Perfect Rye" flour:

This is a by hand type of recipe. Has anyone made it using the dough cycle on the bread machine & what we the results?

Chris, after reading the recipe, I can't see any reason this wouldn't work in the Zo. Just put your liquids in the bucket with the salt. Whisk together everything else except the yeast and add all that over the liquids. Add your yeast on top of the flour mix and start the dough cycle.
I think it might work very well because you won't be tempted to add more flour. Try it. I think it will turn out perfect! Let us know what happens.

My King Arthur order came last week. I made a loaf of Harvest Grains Blend bread. The rye bread comes next, and I will be sure to post feedback on it.

Wonderful. We love the feedback!
Now, how did your Harvest Grains Blend bread turn out? Was it fabulous?

EDIT: I found my answer in the Harvest Grains thread. It really is a great bread, isn't it?

I'm so enjoying the things I got in my first KA order:) It's almost time to make another loaf of bread; I think I just might try the Perfect Rye flour this time! I will share feedback on that too!

When you do, start a new thread with Perfect Rye flour in the title. That way everyone can find it when doing a search. Good luck and have fun baking!

EDIT: Well, duh! This thread started out that way. Just ignore me. I'm only on my third cuppa'!

We truly enjoyed the Harvest Grains Blend bread. It was gone after about 3 days and there's only the 2 of us.
I made the Perfect Rye(pkg recipe) this evening. With too little self-control we were slicing into for a sample piece 10 minutes after it was out of the oven.
I got the Deli Rye Flavor, which we used - it smelled a lot like the fridge pickles we make, but stronger .. .. .. might be effective in clearing stuffed sinuses:)- the smell lessens after baking.
I think it's awesome that I found 2 new make again bread recipes in one week!

I forgot to mention, I was also using my brand-new bread maker today, for the first time; it's got a nice dough cycle.

Chris, it's IS great to acquire two new recipes and they are both keepers! What new bread machine did you get?

Afternoon friends .. .. ..
The bread machine I had was petering out; it leaked a couple of times from the bottom of the pan.
I bought a Westbend machine: http://www.amazon.com/West-Bend-2-Lb-Breadmaker/dp/B003O9YUVY/ref=sr_1_2..., nothing fancy. All I'm going to be using it for is the dough cycle.

If that's all you're using it for, then you made a smart move. Enjoy your new toy!
