Has anyone noticed that when you subscribe to a thread, you are not getting notifications? Or sporadic ones at best? It is not a big deal, but when I post a question, or answer a question, I really liked the email notifications.

Since I came back to the New Circle I have NEVER gotten a notification of any kind. I do not check the 'do not send Notifications for this update'. I always wondered why it was there.

Weird, isn't it? I have also sent emails to the tech advisers, about several different problems, and have not received a reply. Is KAF under financial strain? I know we all are, so I wouldn't be surprised, sadly.

My concern, also.

I came here looking for this topic. I'm new so I don't know what used to happen, but I've tried everything I could think of and never get notified of anything. Maybe I should check the "Do not send notifications" box!

Actually, try clicking on the thing that say, 'subscribe to this post' that is right under the original post. I think this might work. Of course, you might also get fifteen notifications every time ANYBODY posts to that thread. :-))

I wonder if it means you get notified on YOUR personal page. When you participate in a post it shows there. If someone else answers it seems to show in RED and says "NEW". Just my guess.

Apparently, the problem is solved. When I subscribe, I now get email alerts. KAF has worked out that kink! Yay!

Glad to hear that the problem is solved as long as you click on the subscribe link. I hadn't realized there WAS a link and now I know why: When I come to the site, I can read posts without logging in. If you're not logged in, the subscribe link is not shown. If I want to respond I have to log in, but I never notice the subscribe link that now appears because I'm concentrating on the content of the message. This could be avoided by adding the subscribe link or changing the box to "DO send notifications"!

Another issue is having to log in repeatedly every time I switch to a different area. I went to my home page (which did not have a notification re any discussion) and clicked on a recipe. From there I went to another one and when I tried to save it, I had to log in again. A small matter, but annoying. And for some reason my automatic password thing doesn't work here, another small annoyance.

I am usually the only one using my computer (unless my daughter is visiting!), so I never sign out. Therefore I don't ever have to sign in. Whether or not that would help you with having to log in repeatedly I couldn't say!
